Pretty in Pink!

I am part of a local ATC trade group with a bunch of wonderfully talented ladies.  Last months theme was monochromatic and since I have two boys and lots of testosterone in my house, I thought I best be bringing out the pink!

These wonderful pig images are from Vera Land Studios.  I really love to work with digital stamps as they are so versatile and can be sized and flipped and mixed and matched.

This little guy is from Smeared Ink and is also a digital stamp.  He is called Baby Stumpie!  Love him and thought this sentiment was perfect!

Thanks for looking,

What's in a Name

I am blessed to have four nephew's and two neices, all under the age of 12.  I always have all kinds of idea's in my head to make them personalized gifts for birthdays or Christmas but I always seem to run out of time.  But I have finally finished one for my youngest nephew who is two years old.  I converted a dollar store board book into a little name book for him.  The images are from free colouring pages I found on the internet...oh how I wish I could draw better.  Anyways, here are the pages as well as a close up of the animals.

It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas..

Even though I find it hard to find time to craft, I do love a good Swap.  I usually swap ATCs but at Vera Lane Studios I decide to join the Holiday Card Swap. Here is my make.

I love the image and especially the tree on her head and that she has wings. I have a thing for fairies!!  The background is several colours of distressed ink, then I used iridescent ice embossing powder on snowflake stamps. Then on top I used a Tim Holtz snowflake stencil with light modelling paste. The snow is modelling paste as well sprinkled with iridescent ice.

Thanks for stopping in.

Bloggy Beginnings

I've been contemplating a blog for some time now, mostly to share my creative endeavours, connect with other crafty souls and maybe enter in a challenge or two.  I'd like to share my most recent make for a dog loving co-worker.  She spotted a little ATC on my desk and was so thrilled.  I love to make things for 'fans' so I went home and made this little gem.

The background is a mixture of acrylic paint and distressed ink.  Once dried, I stamped and embossed the white rectangles and stamped a few random word stamps in black. Then I added a bit of washi tape and the sentiment.  But the star of the show is that sweet dog image, coloured with alcohol markers and a little bling on the collar.  The image is a Tim Holtz stamp.  Finished it off with some black distressed ink along the edges and some white splattered paint.
